Chinese herbal medicine
Chinese herbal medicine originates from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is more than a herbal apothecary as it includes additional substances such as minerals. For thousands of years, Chinese herbalists have been using natural products to create remedies and treat general health problems.
The treatments are so successful in their aims that they have endured in East Asia to this day, and herbal medicine has spread to the western world in recent years.
Herbs are often used today as a complementary therapy alongside western medicine, or as an accompaniment to a course of chinese medicine acupuncture. Whereas medical therapy in China is unified, so patients get the best of both paradigms.
Patients may also opt for herbal treatments as a standalone process. We offer personalised herbal treatment plans that target the cause of health complaints, relieving symptoms with many therapeutic benefits.
Try our plant based therapies
We use plant extracts in a very fine powder to create a personalised tonic for the patient, often taken in tablet form or dissolved in hot water. The herbs, fruits and seeds used will vary between each person and can treat a variety of health issues.
The aim of herbs is to remove the root cause of one or more symptoms, and the treatment is thought to be more effective than acupuncture in relieving chronic conditions permanently.
No animal products or endangered species are used in our traditional herbal products. They are of the highest quality and tested to meet EU standards.
Rather than treating a single symptom, we tackle the cause of all symptoms in combination. Herbs can treat a wide range of health problems. Many patients are surprised to find symptoms ease that they did not know were linked.
Herbs are often used together with acupuncture and other complementary therapies, as easing the energy blocks in the body can help the herbs circulate more quickly and accurately.
It may be used to treat a condition on its own, or patients might seek a combination of acupuncture and herbs to manage their condition. Herbs might be used where a patient is also receiving western medicine, but this should be discussed with both your herbalist and your GP or consultant before combining the two.
